Rename the Red

Dulux Paints calls on Canadians to give our national colour a more patriotic name

In light of rising national pride, Dulux Paints is inviting Canadians to rename the country’s iconic red seen on the flag, sports jerseys and Canadian-made labels. Currently called, “Federal Identity Program (FIP) Red,” Dulux believes it deserves a name that better reflects the Canadian spirit.

“As experts in colour and colour naming, we at Dulux propose a name change—one that all Canadians can be proud of. So we’re turning to Canadians from coast to coast to help select a more fitting name that best reflects our national spirit and culture,” says Dulux Brand Manager Mitsu Dhawan. “Maple syrup has ‘liquid gold,’ our dollar has the ‘loonie,’ and it is our hope that soon our country’s most famous colour will have a more fitting name.”
