A Day Along Ossington

Discover the best bites and shopping destinations along the West End’s favourite creative corridor
As the Ossington Strip continues to evolve with new restaurants, shops and hangouts, so does the neighbourhood’s appeal as one of the most coveted districts in Toronto. From Queen Street up to Dundas Street West, this stretch is walkable in about twenty minutes—but you’ll likely spend the whole day here without realizing it. From cozy cafés and independent boutiques to artful home goods and late-night craft beers, Ossington offers a seamless blend of style, substance and community. Consider this your go-to guide to the perfect day on the strip.
I Deal Coffee & Wine, 162 Ossington Avenue
SUNDAY – THURSDAY | 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM | FRIDAY – SATURDAY | 7:30 AM – 12:00 AM
Go for the coffee, stay for the patio—this cozy café is one of my favourite spots to begin a slow morning. I like pairing a good read with a dirty iced oat chai latte (made with homemade chai), a butter croissant and settling into a seat by the plant-framed window where the light pours in just right. The space strikes a perfect balance between calm and community hub, making it just as ideal for quiet afternoons as it is for conversational catch-ups with friends.
Linny’s Luncheonette, 176 Ossington Avenue
WEDNESDAY – SUNDAY | 11 AM – 4 PM
With retro charm and serious sandwich game, Linny’s Luncheonette is ideal for a satisfying midday bite. Go for the pastrami sandwich—juicy, seasoned meat in between rye bread. The space is wood-panelled, accented by a bright orange counter and decorated with vintage knick knacks. Think elevated deli classics, seasonal ingredients and a no-fuss vibe.
Andrea’s Cookies, 166 Ossington Avenue
WEDNESDAY – SATURDAY | 11 AM – 9 PM
Andrea’s Cookies is a hidden gem along Ossington for anyone with a sweet tooth. These aren’t your average cookies—they’re soft and chewy with the perfect amount of sweetness. My personal favourites are the strawberry milkshake and honey cornbread. The bakery’s circular interior is one of a kind, with a signature pink that defines the Toronto brand’s vibrant and playful atmosphere.
Kotn, 148 Ossington Avenue
MONDAY – SATURDAY | 10 AM – 7 PM | SUNDAY | 11 AM – 6 PM
Kotn is a minimalist haven for ethically made wardrobe staples that never compromise on style, quality, or integrity. Perfect for refreshing your closet with timeless pieces—my years-old black hoodie is still a go-to—the brand balances sustainability with effortless design. Rooted in Egyptian cotton farming, Kotn works directly with farmers in Egypt to source the highest quality natural fibres while supporting fair labour and community development. The flagship’s interior mirrors this ethos, featuring gentle curves, woven archways and tiled displays that guide you naturally through each section. Neutral tones and greenery create an airy, calming atmosphere that makes browsing a pleasure.
Stylegarage, 78 Ossington Avenue
MONDAY – SATURDAY | 10 AM – 6 PM | SUNDAY | 12 PM – 5 PM
If you’re dreaming of a home refresh, Stylegarage delivers with beautifully crafted, Canadian-made furniture. Celebrating 25 years of timeless design, they offer a wide range of modern to mid-century modern pieces—from rugs and lighting to seating and storage. Their Originals collection highlights locally sourced, sustainable materials, adding thoughtful craftsmanship to every piece. The two-storey Ossington showroom is expertly styled, making it easy to visualize how everything could come together in your space.
SOCCO Living, 1020 Queen Street West
EVERYDAY | 11 AM – 6 PM
Just around the corner at Ossington Ave and Queen Street West, this underrated home goods shop brings Moroccan artisan flair to the city. Its warm, inviting layout displays handmade rugs, ceramics and kitchenware that add rich, global character to any space. Each item is thoughtfully curated—from linen bedsheets to Italian-made soaps—perfect for those looking to elevate their home with worldly accents.
Sundays, 113 Ossington Avenue
SUNDAY: 11AM – 6PM | MONDAY – THURSDAY: 10AM – 6PM | FRIDAY – SATURDAY: 10AM – 7PM
Sundays is a Vancouver-based modern furniture brand that delivers timeless, functional and family-friendly pieces with neutral palettes and cozy textures. While furniture shopping can feel overwhelming, their Scandinavian and West Coast-inspired collection is refreshingly digestible—well-edited, approachable and designed to fit seamlessly into a variety of spaces without sacrificing personality or quality.
Lunch Lady, 93 Ossington Avenue
SUNDAY – THURSDAY | 11 AM – 11 PM | FRIDAY – SATURDAY | 11 AM – 12 AM
Start your evening at Lunch Lady, Ossington’s newest Vietnamese street food venture. With 3 consecutive Michelin Bib Gourmand awards in Vancouver and featured in Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, the restaurant pays homage to founder Nguyen Thi Thanh’s original street cart and Chef Lim’s culinary journey in Saigon. Highlights from the menu include the farmed noodle soups, the Nui Xào (a tender shortrib rigatoni) and Steak Lúc Lắc, a caramelized ribeye served with charred scallion butter. The vibrant space echoes the spirit of Vietnam’s lively backstreets with colourfully stamped tiles, lush greenery and ambient lighting. Doors officially open on June 26.
Bellwoods Brewery, 124 Ossington Avenue
SUNDAY, WEDNESDAY | 12 PM – 12 AM | MONDAY-TUESDAY | 5 PM – 12 AM | THURSDAY – SATURDAY | 12 PM – 1 AM
No trip to the Ossington Strip is complete without a night cap at Bellwoods. Whether you’re a craft beer aficionado or just want a great patio to people-watch, this local brewery delivers on all fronts. Know for its inventive, small-batch brews—ranging from hoppy IPAs to refreshing sours—Bellwoods has become a Toronto staple. The interior is just as inviting, with a warm minimalist design featuring communal tables, exposed brick and a casual, wholesome vibe that mirrors the neighbourhood’s charm.
