Post Design Collective Unveils Its Latest Furniture Catalogue

… and these are our top picks
With its latest launch, Toronto-based Post Design Collective presents a carefully curated collection of 18 standout furniture pieces that seamlessly blend modern form and historic allure. Whether it’s a restored vintage find given new life or a contemporary piece produced in collaboration with emerging designers, every item reflects the collective’s discerning approach. “We wouldn’t be posting these pieces if we didn’t want them in our own home,” says co-founder JP Guay, whose team takes pride in ensuring that each piece resonates with their own aesthetic sensibilities before offering it to the public.
From standout mid-century seating to sculptural lighting and statement dining furniture, these five designs from the new release stand out as our top picks.
Maralunga Loveseat in Peanut Corduroy by Vico Magistretti for Cassina
An Italian design classic, the Maralunga loveseat, designed in 1973 by Vico Magistretti, is part of MoMA’s permanent collection. This edition, upholstered in peanut corduroy, has been refreshed with new foam and backrest mechanics by Atelier 94B in Montreal. Its patented adjustable headrests allow for a seamless shift between lounging positions, making it a timeless yet functional piece.
S1 Lounge chair in Stainless Steel by Oscar Guzman for Osla
Designed by Oscar Guzman for Osla, the S1 Lounge Chair blends brutalist aesthetics with precision engineering. Made from recyclable stainless steel, it features a flexible backrest and intuitive weight distribution for comfort. “The S1 Lounge Chair is the first piece we’re offering on an ongoing basis as a made-to-order design, available in a range of finishes,” says Guay. Available exclusively in Canada through Post Design Collective, it comes in Bauhaus-inspired finishes like Raw, White, Black, Grey, Crimson, Mustard and Cobalt.
MP-51 Lounge chair by Percival Lafer for Móveis Lafer
A collector’s piece from the 1970s, Percival Lafer’s MP-51 Lounge Chair is crafted from Brazilian rosewood and retains its original buttery leather upholstery. With a striking form and hammock-style seating, this mid-century Brazilian design icon has been reinforced for a more upright stance, ensuring both style and longevity.
Walnut Burl Dining table by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin
Minimalist yet striking, this walnut burl dining table by Milo Baughman features a patchwork top and a clean-lined rectangular form. The warm, natural grain of the burl wood enhances its sculptural presence. It includes a built-in extension leaf for added flexibility, though it is non-removable.
Vintage Bamboo lamp by Louis Sognot
A timeless example of natural materiality, this cylindrical bamboo floor lamp by French designer Louis Sognot features a white cotton shade and six bamboo stems. With its Art Deco and mid-century influences, the lamp casts an elegant interplay of light and shadow, making it a refined accent piece.
More than a vintage furniture collection
Post Design Collective’s sourcing process is as thoughtful as its selections. While vintage remains at the heart of its offerings, the studio is embracing a new direction with designer collaborations and made-to-order pieces.
“We’re now partnering with designers to offer pieces that can be continuously available,” explains Guay. “Vintage is getting harder to find, and we want to ensure we can offer great design year-round.”
For those interested in adding a touch of timeless design to their space, Post Design Collective’s latest vintage furniture collection is available online, with select pieces showcased at its Toronto studio by appointment. Whether you’re in search of a single statement piece or a fully realized aesthetic, this latest drop offers something for every discerning collector.
